Well, after waiting for weeks to see if i even placed for the short story contest at WD, i didn't get an email from them. that pretty much mean i didn't make it. that with the rejection from TOR has me feeling like a total loser.

not for the forst time in my life i asked myself if i'm doing nothing more than wasting my time.

but then i thought about what i do have going for me than not. i can still do some things for wotc and while its not a novel, i still get published in a way. maybe if thing go good other things might open up. so i'll keep being positive and try my best.

wow! i have NO idea why its taken me so long to post again, though i have been busy.

well here's the recap of whats happened so far:

i've entered not only WD's POP FICTION CONTEST, but also the SHORT STORY and POETRY CONTESTS(just trying to cover my bases and increase my chances of coming back with something)

i submitted a hobby article to WOTC for D&D Minis. it's not like having a book published, but i can't complain. maybe i could use it as a spring to something else or even as a credit, who knows...

my webiste is FINALLY up (thanks to a great web designer!). it still has some things to work out but i like it. here is the link to see it

oh, and i won NANAOWRIMO! for a firtimer i think i did ok. the story was something i had kickin around in my head for years and i finally did it. it looks very promising and it was funn writing it too. once i edit it up and fix it a bit, i'll submit it to see what happens.

well that's about it. for now. WHEW! hope i didn't forget anything.

Even though its taking me awhile, my NANOWRIMO novel, Wolfbane is taking some interesting turns and twists in terms of characters and plot. I think my problem is that i'm so used to overly examining all of the details of the piece instead of just writing for the sake of writing. That's why I enjoythis exercise so much. You can just let go of your inner critic and go for what you know.

I'm really going for the whole 50K words on this and I have a pretty good feeling that I can finish it. So I'll keep my fingers crossed and keep typing. (Not necessarily in that order)

I know its been awhile since my last post. Let's see what's happened so far.

Been busy trying to get my book site together and my project for nanowrimo too. I entered my S/F short The Inquiry in a contest held by WD. Its gotten some good reviews, so i should be fine. I'll keep my fingers crossed. There are two more contest coming up in Dec. one for poetry and one for short stories.

Also, I'm getting ready to submit three chapters of my manuscript, Three Against Evil to TOR. I have a good feeling abouot this. I doun't know why, I just do.

Anyway, that's it. More to come later. ;-)

When dawn comes with birds in the trees,
Their sweet song floating on the morning breeze.
I, on my early walk,
am looking for a prey to stalk.
My clever mind turning all the while
behind an overly confident smile.

The Smiling Fox, I am he.
Tramping through the woods, happily.

I happened upon a tasty hare,
but I had caught her unaware.
Eating prey without chase is not my way.
So, I smile and let her run away.
Others take what they can out of their need,
but I do not fear because of my speed.

Through the meadow and the woodland, I gracefully sail,
Bounding with ease o'er hill and dale.
The hunter and his hounds are on my track,
but I am not afraid of that.
Though he follows me, wheree'er I roam,
I'll lose him in the forest, my secret home.

So I shall smile, conceitedly.
Knowing no hunter shall capture me
and keeping laughing, walking through the wood,
where the water's fresh and the breeze is good.

The Smiling Fox, I am he.
Tramping through the woods, happily
and that's the way I'll always be.
